S690QL - EN10025-6 steel

S690QL steel produced according to EN10025-6 is a high-performance, hardened and tempered steel with exceptionally high strength. This makes S690QL widely used in constructions where weight saving and durability are crucial. This steel grade is frequently found in crane construction, heavy machinery (yellow goods) & trailer construction.

S690QL: exceptional strength and performance

Material S690QL is a high-performance structural steel with a yield strength of 690 MPa. The ‘S’ stands for ‘structural steel’, while the ‘QL’ refers to its high strength and toughness at low temperatures. The Q stands for ‘quenched and tempered’, a controlled rolling process of heating the material at extreme temperatures, letting it cool quickly (quenching) and then controlled heat post-treatment (tempering) to improve hardness. The L belongs to a minimum impact value of 30 Joules at -40 °C, for L1 the minimum is 30 Joules at-60 °C both tested longitudinally.

Europe Steel Center supplies S690QL up to 16000 mm long from stock, mostly with a 3.2 certificate, your guarantee that production and certification have been completed under the supervision of an independent third party.
