This project required technically sophisticated customisation, according to the very high standards in the offshore wind industry. After several technical discussions with the customer and the producing mill, Europe Steel Projects we agreed upon a technical specification for the required welded hollow sections. The specification met both the requirements for the project and the mills capabilities.
Welded hollow sections according to high requirements
The wind project required steel welded hollow sections of various sizes according to project specification. Europe Steel Center supplied hot formed welded hollow sections in S355NH according to EN10210 with restriction on CEV values, stringent requirements on Charpy-V values and surface condition of the profiles. We delivered 1,100 tonnes of hollow sections ex-mill to our customer in the UAE for this project.
Quality on time
Europe Steel Projects also provided a good logistics solution in this project by delivering the steel hollow sections in batches, with staggered delivery times to different destinations.
